Gray’s Creek FFA Chapter hosted its very first Agriculture Symposium. The first annual event was a huge success! Over one hundred people were able to learn about several different interesting topics! This event was created in order to spread knowledge of agriculture to students and community members. But aside from agriculture, students were able to choose workshops relating to resume building, making goals, different colleges and more.

There were 16 total workshops at the Symposium that included beekeeping, gardening, small animal pet care, stress management, backyard poultry, fishing, canning, photography and more. Mrs. April Pittman, one of the agriculture education teachers and FFA Advisors, has been trying to get this event started ever since she began student teaching. She was beyond pleased with the turnout of the Symposium and is excited that this will become an annual event. Others who attended are also excited that this will be a yearly activity. Some who came, were looking forward to learning about topics they’ve always wanted to know about and cross some things off their bucket list!
