Welcome to the Academic and Instructional Systems Department at Cumberland County Schools. We are dedicated to supporting the educational needs of our 50,000 students and over 7,000 staff members through innovative and impactful academic systems. Led by the Executive Director of Academic and Instructional Systems, our department brings together key areas, including Student Information Systems, Central Records, Digital Learning, Media Services, Grants, and Instructional Materials, to enhance the teaching and learning experience across the district.

Our Mission

We strive to ensure that all students, teachers, and staff members have access to the tools, resources, and professional support necessary to foster academic success and lifelong learning. We aim to create an environment where instructional systems not only meet the current needs of our school community but also anticipate future educational challenges.

Our Core Principles

We are committed to aligning our efforts with the following core principles:

  • Student-Centered Support: Ensuring that every student has the resources and opportunities to thrive as independent, information-literate learners.

  • Curriculum Enhancement: Supporting the district’s curriculum through diverse and balanced educational resources, both traditional and digital.

  • Professional Development: Empowering our educators with the tools and knowledge needed for ongoing professional growth.

  • Innovation in Learning: Encouraging creative and critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving to develop students' abilities to navigate a rapidly changing world.

By working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and our community partners, we are committed to shaping an academic environment where every learner has the opportunity to succeed—both now and in the future.

Through strategic initiatives and continuous support, the Academic and Instructional Systems Department at Cumberland County Schools is proud to contribute to the success of our students, the professional growth of our educators, and the academic excellence of our entire school community.
